Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum

The Dallas Holocaust Museum is largely dedicated to the preservation of the memory of the Holocaust and to the education on current issues involving prejudice, genocide, hatred and indifference. More than a museum, the Center deals with difficult, controversial and heart-wrenching moments in history. As the generation of Holocaust survivors dwindles, capturing this mission is important now more than ever. This building must convey that message, create an emotional space and allow opportunities for reflection so that one can fully comprehend the gravity of the information they have just taken in.

The 50,000 square foot building design is deliberate in the way that it leads visitors through such journey. A carefully choreographed sequence of spaces is designed to remove the visitor from everyday distractions, so that the focus is solely on the exhibits.
