Surrey Circle Residence

Surrey Circle Residence is a renovation, restoration and addition to a Bud Oglesby designed residence built in the 1970’s. The residence, located on a 2 acre creek lot with rolling topography of some 50 feet in elevation, was expanded to approximately 12,000 – 14,000 SF.

Collaborating with the architect, interior designer, and owners that are passionate about modern design and quality execution, the residence became a series of living spaces connected by expansive glass viewing galleries to exterior courtyards. These include an arrival courtyard, an auto court, an east side breakfast courtyard, a cigar court, the gallery court, and a lower level pool loggia and pool terrace with an infinity edge. Below the pool terrace is the lawn terrace for entertaining.

A hopes window system throughout the residence allows the well-defined courtyard to engage the interior living experience, sunlight and shade highlight specific areas through the day. The owners live inside/outside and the design of these spaces extend a comfortable temperature well into the summer months.  The surrounding property edges are screened with mature landscape ultimately providing a forest canopy.
