This corporate courtyard provides a respite of outdoor space on a campus devoid of exterior gathering spaces. Throughout the courtyard a rich palette of paving and plant materials combine to form a variety of intimate spaces for dining, working, or lounging outside – a departure from the campus’ expansive interior spaces. The courtyard also serves as a focal element for the adjacent interior common and work areas. Two fountains add an element of sparkle and sound to the courtyard space complimented by a lush plant background. A grove of Pond Cypress trees in decomposed granite provide a shady enclave for dining while large fans provide air circulation throughout the courtyard. This project serves as the catalyst for future interior and exterior renovation for this corporate campus.
