University of North Texas – Dallas Campus Landscape Project

Location: Dallas, Texas

Size: 200 Acres

Project Architect: Aguirre Roden Architects

Talley Associates provided landscape architectural services for the first building on The University of North Texas at Dallas campus. Following the guidelines of the 200 acre Campus Master Plan, Talley prepared a refined schematic design, completed and coordinated construction documents and provided construction administration services. The landscape plan featured native and well-adapted plant materials in a simple, yet imaginable design that responds well to the scale of the building and its status as the initial landmark structure.

Different species of shade trees are used to define views, reinforce strong vehicular and pedestrian corridors and add shade and definition to parking areas. A palette of native ornamental trees and ornamental grasses and perennials provide seasonal interest, color, texture and scale to the more intimate, pedestrian oriented spaces surrounding the building.
